DIY Cricut Imagine Card stock Samples!

HEY!!! So  I made another video to go along with this post.  It's at the bottom of this post!

I made my own card stock sample pack with my Cricut Imagine and the Imagine cartridge, Bubblegum Stripes.

So first I printed and cut each pattern out of the cartridge in 2''x2'' squares.  Then I punched a heart, (my hole punch ate at my paper, so I had to buy a new one.) stacked the squares together and placed a 1.5'' chrome binging ring.

So here's my video! This is a super easy super fast way to make your Imagine Pattern Cartridges easy and available without pulling out each one wondering which one to use.  Just be sure to maybe create on square that is white as the top paper to write which cartridge it came from.!

Shopping Hauls!

Hey everyone!  Just wanted to share some shopping hauls I did.  First, I was at my local Menards were the were having a moving sale.  Everything discounted and 40% off.  I got 3 brand new cricut cartridges for $10!!  And then I got some shelf/cube units for small individual storage.  Paid less then $14 for 2 when just one at original price was $15. :0  I  also got some small stuff but I made a video on it.  I also made a video on my online JoAnn's haul.

My online JoAnn's haul,  I got some distress inks, rings, cuttlebug folder , and a Yourstory bundle kit that came with a large cutter!  Everything I got from JoAnn's was on sale except for the rings.  I needed the rings so that ok.

How to make your own paper storage rack

Hello there!  So I have been in search of a paper storage rack for a long time.  Like the ones that are in Hobby Lobby.  I've looked on ebay ect. for one and they are $100-$200.  What!?  Yeah, so my husband was at Mernards, and they were having a moving sale.  (They built a new Super Mernards down the road).  I asked he to search for these racks because all displays were being sold.  Well he found what I wanted, but it was already sold. :-(  So I searched on youtube in hopes to find how other people placed there paper in storage.  And I saw on one lady's video a rack that she converted into what I was looking for.  So I decided to do it too and make a video on it. :)

I bought this storage unit at Kmart for around $22.  I searched Walmart in all different departments and they had none.  I got aggravated because the sales associates were not helpful at all.  So what did I do, I went to Kmart.  Were they ladies were tickled pink, about the whole situation and how they love it when people go to Kmart to get what they need because Walmart doesn't have something. 

This is what you need.  The wire storage cube set,  zip ties, and scissors.

Putting together is pretty self explanatory.  Easy.   Place the corner brackets on the bottom panel, all four corners.  Place the next panel inside those same brackets and so on and so on. 

 When you create the 3 shelves, the next step is to take the remaining panels and zip tie them to the inside of the top  shelf.  Start at the top and work your way down..  Going on each wire which is about 1" apart.  This will give you the appropriate spacing.  You could even skip one to have a larger shelf.  I zip tied them to shelf, but I did not tighten them all the way till I had the shelf completely connected.  Then I tightened them.  I didn't cut off the ends until all shelves were on, just to re-tighten them if needed.  Then I trimmed off the ends of the zip ties.

I ran out of shelves, so I'm going to have to get another cube set to complete the whole system.  I should get around 20 more shelves and that's including a 4 tier on top.

Baby girl card

So it's been awhile and I've been busy.  :)  I'm trying this blog from my phone so I'm not sure how it'll turn out. 

This is a basic card.  The card stock, ribbon,  and stickers I got from walmart.  I can't exactly remember the size but it fits on a A2 size envelope.  I just used white card stock with pink cardstock in the center.  I put the ribbon on using the cheater method.  I then put the dimensional stickers on just like a clothes line.  I think they're are so cute. 

i then just used baby feet n hand print stamps on the inside. I'm sorry for the bad picture quality.  i lost my camera n i am using my cell.   just a simple card.  :)

DIY Lily wall art

Hello there!  I made this wall art for a little girl's room.  It was a birthday present for Lily from my daughter.  My video is at the bottom on how I made it!

I have a 10x10 canvas, a card stock pack I got from Wal-mart, and Basic Black card stock from Stampin' Up! that I used for the letters.

I first cut out Lily using my Cricut Expression.  The cartridge was Classic Fonts.  I believe I cut it out at 5''.  I can't quiet remember.

Then I scored the flowered card stock 1'' around all 4 sides.  I then Modge Podge all over the canvas and smoothed out all bubbles that I could. 

  I glued, (I'm just gonna say glued because its faster.)  the edges and stapled them down on the back.  I folded the corners in and stapled them too.

Then I glued the top of the canvas/ card stock and completely let it dry.  Glued on Lily and also went over that.  Let it dry and..

poof!..

And here is a close up of the flowers.  They have glitter on them.  The paper came like that.

Valentines!!

So this year I made the kids Valentines.  I used my Cricut Imagine, and some Valentine paper pack from Hobby Lobby.  This is real simple to make. 

First you need are...these!!

Any candy will do, as long as it fits inside the right size baggie you are using.

The size bag I'm using for this project are 3''x4'' baggies I got from Hobby Lobby.

For the Hersey Nuggets,  I cut card stock at 1''x3'' and put adhesive in the center, and on both ends.  I used my ATG gun, because it would hold better. 

Then I stuffed my baggies full of candy!!! For a 3''x4'' baggie, the M&M's fun size fits perfectly.

For the bag top, I cut the card stock at 3 1/2'' x 4''.  Then I folded it in half to make 3 1/2'' x 2''. 

For the image, ( I dont know what it's called, lol)  I used the Cricut Imagine stock images.  It is at 2''.

So for this image,  I used 2 stamps I got from Hobby Lobby.  The double heart and the saying 'be my valentine'   The ink I used for the hearts are Stampin' Up! Real Red.  For the saying I used Memento Tuxedo Black.

I then used Stampin' Up! marker Basic Black, for the words.

For the top, I folded the 3 1/2''x 4'' card stock in half, then stuck the baggie slightly into the bottom, then staple it!

Then, I used the Image to cover up the staple.  I used pop dots from Hobby Lobby.

I had to make 21 of these.  These ones are for my daughter.  I then had to make 20 more for my son.  His are girly looking too (I havent seen blue valentine paper) but I don't think pre school kids will mind once the see candy.

DIY Wall art

Hello there!  It's been awhile.  I've been busy.  But I got crafts up the sleeve!  Here is my video of how to do wall art using canvas and card stock.   This is the first time I have made this and I have imperfections in it.  But I know how to fix it for next time.   Watch the video and reads below.

This is a very easy project.   All I used was a 10x10 canvas that I got from Hobby Lobby.  And I had also got the Tim Holtz card stock pack. 

I used the card stock at 12x12.  I also used a stapler for extra hold.

What I did was measure and scored 1 inch around all the edges of the paper.  To give the extra bend around the canvas. 

Then I Modge Podged the top of the canvas and placed the canvas on top centered within the center of the paper.  I pressed down firmly around the bottom of the canvas and the canvas itself.   Then I glued around the edges bending the paper around the canvas.  I also used scissors to diagonally cut the corners to fold the corners around the canvas.    I smooth out the edges and then bent them again to wrap around the bottom of the canvas.  I then used the stapler to give it extra hold. 

I flipped the canvas back over and then Modge Podged the whole canvas and sides.  Let it dry.  I place it under a desk light to help speed up the process.

Crayon drawing/ melting Lady Gaga

So this is a video I stumbled apon looking for crayon melting ect.  The start is a small clip of Lady Gaga but it leads into the crayon drawing.  I was totally amazed that this guy can draw this good! Love the rainbow effect! So I thought I would share it with you.  Enjoy!  :)

More crayon Melting using Cricut Expression

 So here is my how to step process of crayon melting that I do.  I am totally into doing crayon melting right now.  Ideas are just flowin.  I used my Cricut Expression to cut out the words, I have Winter Wonderland cartridge in.  I am also plugged into CCR (cricut craft room )

I traced them onto the canvas and then used painters tape to cover the letters I traced.  This one I worked on, Sam did Family, I helped her with it.

 Then Sam and I pinned on the crayons and started melting.  When I was done melting, I put the canvas outside to cool and harden.  (Not necessary but I choose to do it.)  I then peeled away the painters tape (VERY CAREFULLY) using a exacto knife.  Also I would scrap some edges and unnecessary crayon the was left behind in places it should of not been.


Here is Sam's.  Colors used are a rainbow selection.

Here is mine, colors used are light brown, dark brown, medium brown, and dark red colors and black.  Small pieces in random order pinned to the canvas.

The wine glass in this one is from the French Manor Cartridge.  But the letters are Winter Wonderland.
These were xmas presents for Sam's a aunt's.
Here is my how to video.  When I uploaded, edited, and uploaded it again.  It changed some how.  It's not exactly like how I have it in Window Movie Maker.  But most of it is just showing more process.  It's super speedy.  I wish Apple would create movie software for PC like what they have on their Mac's.  That would be awesome!!

So I haven't forgotten about my blog or you guys, just been busy.  But I have been working on a project with Sam (my niece).  It just takes some time.  I will however give you a sneak peak! It involves my Cricut Expression and a canvas.

I am making a video of it.  So you will see the process of it! :)  I have lots of ideas in the works, and I'm super excited at getting to do them!  So stay tuned!  Hope you have a happy day! :)

For Fun

So this isn't exactly crafting, but like I said, I'm not limiting it just to crafts. I made this and I had a little laugh. My son was eating fruit and didnt like it at all.  Made the most funniest faces. I happened to have my camera and it was on burst mode.  Excellent picutres.  He still don't like fruit a whole lot.  So enjoy. :)

Crayon Melting "Kayla"

So this is my first video  I have ever made.  And uploaded to Youtube.  I'm not the best but I sure am trying, lol!  So as in the video I kinda explained.  But I will do it again for you!!

I used Cricut craftroom for the angling and welding of Kayla. Used classic font cartridge.  If you haven't noticed, its the only font cartridge i have right now. lol. I used my cricut expression and after I did all that, I traced Kayla on my 10x10 white canvas.  I used painters tape to cover very carefully the letters I just traced.  Alot of little pieces.  I then painted the canvas black.  After it dried, I picked out the crayon colors, rainbow style fading in then out.  I pinned them to the  canvas, placed newspaper everywhere!! And started melting!  How fun.  I got alot of crayon melting ideas in my brain!   So after I did the main melting, one at a time, I pulled out a pin from a crayon held it at the top of the canvas and kept melting.  I did this for every crayon.  My arms got tired. :) So after all of this, I placed it outside to cool alot faster, and then after it was completely cool, i peeled off the tape.  Very very carefully.  Also using a exacto knife.  With the knife, I perfected the edges alittle more, and scraped off and little excess that leaked.  Here is the end result.  Sam helped me with the video, did a excellent job of keeping my head out of the camera! :) Love you Sam!

Duke

So I did this project for my mom to give to my dad.  Here's my story- When I was 12 years old, my dad picked me up on night from basketball practice, and here sat this little white powder puff of a puppy in the front seat with him.  I was so so excited!  He was a mix of Chow, Husky, and Samoyed.  I called hime a Choyensky. Lol. He was white like a Samoyed but had the fur, face, and tongue of a Chow. We named him Duke.  I trained him to do all kinds of things, he was the smartest dog I ever had.  After getting married having kids and moving, Duke's pal became my dad.  Duke was with us for along time, but as all dogs age, his hips and legs took a toll.  He was old but still smart as a whip.  When he could no longer stand or walk, a decision that no one wants to make, had to be made.  Duke was with us for 14 wonderful years.  Best dog ever.  He always had a smile.

 So this Christmas, I helped my mom with this project.  We got this picture frame at Bed, Bath and Beyond.  It's perfect.  I took my best picture of Duke and placed it on white card stock.  I used vintage photo Tim Holtz distressing ink.  Then I used Classic Font Cartridge and my cricut expression.  I used the Cricut craft room also for the angling and welding of his name.   I took his collar, dirt, fur, and all and placed it in the window of the picture.  I had to cut his collar in half because the buckle would not all fit.  But I placed the collar in with the picture in the back.  Kept it all in together.  So here it is.  I love it and so does my dad.

Date Night Card

So I helped my niece on this one.  She wanted to make a card to give to grandpa, as a go and do something fun card.  I used pale pink card stock.  Took at sheet at 8 1/2 by 11 and cut it in half.  Then I cut another of the same color for the inset, cut 1/2" smaller.  I had Sam then ink the edges using Tuxedo Black ink.  Then I had her place it in the cuttle bug, using the folder with skulls.  I used the French Manor cartridge for the Eiffel Tower and the swirly thing ( I am so sorry, for the life of me I can not think what its called) that goes over the tower.  We used Black satin ribbon, for going around the card using Robyn (my pink stamper) cheater method.  Taping the ribbon on the back side.  Using Dimensionals from Stampin Up!, we put the tower in the middle. 

For the inside of the card, I used Classic Fonts cartridge and the cricut craft room. I shifted the letters so they would have a slight angle. Cutting them all at 1''.  I had her glue them all on.  I blocked out her last name for privacy.

For the envelope, we used Stampin up! ink and stamps. Sam did the stamping. Good job Sam! The Rock Star in the middle is because my dad used to be in a band, but still continues to play.  Fit hit perfectly. :)

  For the back of the envelope, she stamped again. and for the swirly thing that I can't remember what its called, we used the card stock that it was cut out of, and made it like a stencil.

Letter Blocks

So as I promise, I'm adding what Christmas presents I made.  Please bare the horrible picture quality.  I took the pictures with my droid phone and i tried editing them so they would look better.  The first present I made was letter blocks for decoration.  I used Modge Podge, a sponge paint brush, 2x2 holiday card stock. and 8 wooded blocks from Hobby Lobby. For the lettering I used my Cricut Expression and the Classic Fonts cartridge.  I cut out the letters at 1 1/2 inch's (I believe, cant quiet remember).  I cut the holiday card stock at 2"x2" making 9. (one extra for mess ups).

So first I made a diagram of how I wanted each block to be placed and what it would say.  I recommend going to KarleeKrafts.  Her button is to the right, just click, and watch her tutorial on how she does it. That's how I did it. Thanks Karlee!  After I made my diagram, i first started on Thankful.  The blocks I got from Hobby Lobby are not exactly 2"x2" as they are stated. So these first block card stock are a little short.  It's okay, no body's perfect, just shows its homemade and from the heart. :) So after I made this boo boo, I fixed the problem after on all the rest.  

I Modged Podged the blocks, and then placed the card stock squares on the block evening the edges and bubbles out.  I did it to all 8 blocks, and then waited for it to dry.  Rotated all the blocks one flip forward, and repeated the process till all sides were done.  Then I trimmed the edges with any overage and filed them with a fingernail file.  I then re-modge podged them.  Wait for it to dry.  Repeated the flipping. I then modge podge the letters on, first placing so modge podge, put the letter on, and modge podge over it.  It will move the letters some, but if you just use different angles to spread the glue, it will even the letters back to the middle.  After all letters, all side are dry, put one more coat of modge podge on like a 'seal'.  So then your done, yes it is some what time consuming, but I placed my blocks under my desk lamp and it puts out some heat which help dry them faster.  I did Thankful for Thanksgiving, Believe for Christmas, Chilly for winter (my mom loves winter)  Lovely for Valentines Day, Welcome, and on one side, their last name, which is private, so I won't show you.
